The SIS2020 meeting should has coincided with the 75th birthday of Kash Mittal. Thus, on this momentous occasion, during SIS2022 symposium we feel it is very appropriate to bring out a book and dedicate to him for his singular contribution to the field of surfactants. As you all know that Kash initiated this biennial series of SIS meetings in 1976 and these have been running uninterruptedly for the last more than 40 years which is marvellous. SIS meetings are veritably international in spirit and scope and have been held in various parts of the globe. This spectacular success is all due to Kash's dedication and excellent relation with the surfactants community worldwide. Today, SIS meetings are regarded the premium forum for researchers actively engaged in the arena of surfactants.
Only the Plenary and Invited Speakers will be invited to contribute to this book. Prof. Polina Prokopovich (Cardiff University, UK) has already agreed to spearhead this book project and CRC Press has shown keen interest in publishing this book. Prof. Prokopovich with the help of Prof. Krister Holmberg (Sweden) will bring this book to fruition. Further details about this book will be provided in due course. We strongly feel that this book will be an appropriate tribute to Kash for all what he has done.

The Journal of Surfactants and Detergents (JSD), a peer reviewed periodical of the American Oil Chemists’ Society published by John Wiley & Sons, will publish invited papers from the 23rd International Symposium on Surfactants in Solution (SIS2022).
JSD publishes scientific contributions in the surfactants and detergents area. This includes the basic and applied science of petrochemical and oleochemical surfactants, the development and performance of surfactants in all applications, as well as the development and manufacture of detergent ingredients and their formulation into finished products. Manuscripts involving performance, test method development, analysis, and the environmental fate of surfactants and detergent ingredients are welcome.
